This quarantine project began as a way for me to explore my discomfort with vulnerability, but when I extended it beyond my own head it took on an almost performative aspect.
I asked 23 friends ——one for each letter of the alphabet, minus a few — what vulnerability meant to them, often putting myself in awkward and vulnerable positions to do so.
I then compiled their responses, using simple typography and a grayscale color palette to allow their words to speak for themselves, without interference from noisy design elements.
I was pleasantly surprised to find such profundity in this project. It began as a way to fill my time and tackle a novel design challenge; it ended as a new perspective on myself and my connections with those around me.
